Near the southern end of the wetalnd with herb and shrub communities to the west and maple forest to the east. Not close to any games plots or roads.;This stand is somewhat perched above other portions of the wetland and has a few areas of inundation (there is a depression in the middle). The stream is adjacent to this plot and has probably made a fair amount of deposition of sand, creating a more well drained portion of the wetland. Carex stricta is still present and forms large hummocks in some places. This area seems intermediate between herb and total shrub dominance.
Representativeness
Drier area of the wetland dominated by shrubs with some species more representative of wetter areas. Not as wet as some other shrub thickets here.
